Snowboarders face a common challenge: hands and wrists are prone to injury, yet few wear wrist guards, and traditional mittens often sacrifice mobility for warmth or protection. My solution draws inspiration from the shrimp exoskeleton, using segmented, accordion-style armor that protects against impact while allowing natural wrist and finger movement. A hybrid of lightweight thermoplastic plates and insulating liner balances safety, dexterity, and comfort, creating a mitten that performs in cold, high-impact conditions without compromising the rider’s experience.
